Ferrari has unveiled the Portofino M, the successor to the Portofino, and it boasts several notable features:

Design and Exterior:

  • The Portofino M offers a harmonious design approach with seamless integration between the exterior and interior.
  • The front bumper incorporates air intakes, and the vent at wheelarch height helps reduce overall drag.
  • The grille features new aluminum slats with faceted tips.
  • The rear exhaust system has been redesigned, removing the silencer assembly for a more compact, streamlined tail.
  • The rear diffuser can be specified in carbon-fiber.
  • Diamond-finish wheel rims designed specifically for the Portofino M.
  • The 5-position Manettino (a first for a Prancing Horse GT spider) enhances handling and grip with the introduction of a Race mode.

Interior:

  • The cabin features a multi-level dashboard structure with an upper half and an intermediate gap, allowing the technical components and in-car devices to be organized efficiently.
  • The dashboard is symmetrical, and the rear seat space is ample.
  • The innovative magnesium structure seats offer different density padding and a compact seatback profile for increased rear occupant space.
  • Three-level ventilation for the seats and backrest, as well as a neck warmer for winter use.
  • The passenger has an optional dedicated capacitive display that allows interaction with car systems, acting as a co-driver.

Infotainment and HMI:

  • The HMI is centered around a digital cluster with dual TFT displays around the analog rev counter.
  • Infotainment is controlled via a touchscreen on the dashboard that supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
  • The passenger has an optional 7" capacitive display connected to the main screen, enabling interactions with the car's systems.
  • Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are available as optional features, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Predictive Emergency Brake System, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beam, Traffic Sign Recognition, Surround View with 3D display, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Powertrain:

  • The Portofino M features a 3855cc engine from the V8 turbo family, capable of producing 620 cv at 7,500 rpm.
  • New cam profiles increase valve lift and optimize combustion chamber filling.
  • A speed sensor on the turbocharger assembly allows an increased maximum RPM of the turbine.
  • A Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) ensures compliance with strict pollution emissions standards (Euro-6D) without compromising performance.
  • The 8-speed gearbox is a new unit compared to the previous 7-speed version and is based on a dual-clutch oil bath architecture.
  • Variable Boost Management adjusts torque delivery based on the gear selected, optimizing fuel consumption and power.
  • The introduction of the eighth gear and improved transmission efficiency results in reduced fuel consumption in urban and motorway contexts, enhancing performance.
  • The exhaust system features a new geometry and oval by-pass valves to reduce backpressure, improving sound quality.

Vehicle Dynamics:

  • The vehicle dynamics control system known as Side Slip Control (SSC) is in its sixth generation and integrates several control systems.
  • The Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer (FDE) optimizes lateral dynamics.
  • The brake pedal offers more precise, instantaneous responsiveness during braking.

The Ferrari Portofino M is designed to deliver authentic GT performance, driving pleasure, agility, and versatility, combining sportiness with enhanced comfort.
