Unveiling the New 2022 NIO ET5
NIO has unveiled a brand new smart electric sedan, ET5, which is taking the e-car market by storm. So, what can we expect from the NIO ET5?
At first glance, the exterior is refreshingly youthful and modern, blending the concept of "Design for AD" with NIO's supercar DNA for purity and precision. Its silhouette has the soul of ET7, and its muscular haunches parallel those of supercar EP9.
ET5's interior embodies the concept of a second living room with a homely warmth and sophistication, and the instrument panel with invisible air vents keeps it neat and visually satisfying. With flush door handles, soft close doors, and smart key, entering and exit is as smooth as possible.
PanoCinema combines AR and VR technologies for a digitally immersive and panoramic cockpit. In partnership with NREAL, NIO is developing NIO-exclusive AR glasses with the capability to project 201-inch screen sizes at six meters. A further collaboration with Nolo gives the e-sedan NIO VR Glasses with binocular 4K display effect on ultra-thin lenses.
Cutting-edge hardware that includes a 10.2-inch HDR instrument cluster enhances the vividness of the images, and the Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 surround sound system takes care of the auditory senses for a pleasurable ride.
The electric vehicle leverages the latest and continuously updated NIO Autonomous Driving (NAD) to achieve an autonomous ride that is safe and reassuring. NIO will gradually roll out NAD's full features after development validation and will be available at RMB 680 monthly subscription.
ET5 only needs 4.3 seconds to accelerate 0 to 100 km/h. The e-sedan has a braking distance of 33.9 meters, thanks to NIO's high-performance, aluminum-cast 4-piston fixed calipers. With a 75 kWh Standard-Range Battery , ET5 has a range of 550 km, and with the 100 kWh Long-Range Battery, it can travel for over 700 km. The 150 kWh Ultralong-Range Battery pushes the range to an impressive 1000 km.
Its steel-aluminum hybrid body meets the Euro NCAP standards and the five-star C-NCAP. ET5 deliveries are expected from September 2022.
