Porsche unveiled the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition, a special edition model designed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and celebrate Porsche's history at the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe. This exclusive car is available exclusively in the French market.
The 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition draws inspiration from two successful racing cars: the Porsche 356 SL and the 911 GT1 '98. By incorporating design elements from these historic vehicles, Porsche has created a modern sports car tailored for the "gentleman driver."
The special edition is based on the 911 Carrera GTS, featuring a turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 353 kW (480 PS). Customers can choose between a 7-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed PDK transmission.
The design of the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition incorporates several Le Mans-themed details. The rear lid grille showcases a badge with the "24h Le Mans" logo and a laurel wreath design. The rear end features a "Born in Le Mans, Manufactured in Zuffenhausen" decorative decal, highlighting the collaboration between the two locations. Additionally, the B-pillar sports a high-quality badge with the outline of the Le Mans race track in the colors of the French tricolor, along with anniversary lettering.
The interior of the special edition pays tribute to the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well. The center armrest features an embossed Le Mans racetrack, the headrests display the "24h Le Mans" logo, and the door sill trims showcase the model lettering. The full bucket seats draw inspiration from the Graphite Blue leather and Graphite Blue corduroy found in the historic 356 SL racing car. The GT sports steering wheel is also finished in Graphite Blue leather, with contrasting Cayon accents present on various elements.
The exterior design takes cues from the 356 SL and the 911 GT1 '98. The Le Mans Silver Metallic color, reminiscent of the first 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, is specially reintroduced for this special edition through the "Paint to Sample Plus" program. The exterior also features the starting number "46," paying homage to the 356 SL. The rims are painted in Aurum and include a Le Mans Silver Metallic fineline, while the rear side windows showcase a Black decorative decor that resembles air outlets, similar to those on the 911 GT1 '98. Red seat belts further evoke the spirit of the 911 GT1 '98.
Each buyer of the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition receives an individual key pouch and a Graphite Blue car cover for indoor use.
