Alfa Romeo is redefining its lineup with the addition of the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4, offering a stunning blend of efficiency, performance, and cutting-edge technology. Available in Ti and Veloce trims, and a special SPECIALE edition at launch, the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is being touted as the most efficient Alfa Romeo to date. This new flagship model boasts an impressive CO2 emissions rating of just 29g/km and over 49 miles of battery life in full-electric mode, with a total range of over 372 miles in non-urban use.
The powertrain of this new Tonale is a testament to Alfa Romeo's commitment to electrification. The vehicle pairs a 180hp, 1.3-liter turbocharged MultiAir, 4-cylinder engine with a 90kW electric motor. This advanced hybrid system, which includes a 15.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and a Q4 all-wheel-drive system, promises a seamless blend of performance, safety, and efficiency. The battery charges in less than 2.5 hours from a 7.4 kW charger and offers over 49 miles of full-electric range, extending to more than 372 miles with the use of the petrol engine. This results in CO2 emissions of just 29 g/km and an impressive fuel consumption rate of 217.3 mpg in the WLTP cycle.
The Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is packed with new functionalities that enhance efficiency and performance. These include a redesigned Alfa D.N.A. drive selector, which allows the driver to manage traction and electronic controls, modify the sensitivity of the commands, and coordinate the engine and transmission. The addition of EV features like E-Save and regenerative braking system also contribute to an even more efficient and relaxing driving experience. All this comes with superior software and connectivity features such as the Amazon Alexa voice assistant integration and a brand-new infotainment system powered by a customizable Android operating system.
The Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is available for order now, starting from £44,595 for the SPECIALE edition.
Alfa Romeo promises to deliver the first orders of Veloce and SPECIALE by Q1, with the Ti version available to order in Q2. This marks a significant milestone in Alfa Romeo's 'zero to zero' journey, which aims to transition the brand from being zero percent electrified at the start of 2022 to being a 100 percent electrified brand by 2027.
