Kia Motors has announced the launch of its first electric flagship SUV, the Kia EV9. Based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the model promises an all-electric range of 541 km, along with ultra-fast charging capabilities. It can power the vehicle for 239 km with only 15 minutes of charge. The SUV also features Highway Driving Pilot (HDP), which allows conditional Level 3 autonomous driving in selected markets. Additionally, it introduces the Kia Connect Store, which enables customers to buy digital features and services on demand and upgrade the vehicle's capability with Over the Air (OTA) updates.


Guided by the brand’s "Opposites United" design philosophy, the Kia EV9 provides a sense of serene contemporary calmness befitting of a sophisticated EV for a new age of sustainable mobility. The front of the SUV exudes confidence, clarity, and calmness with its clear-cut lines and surfaces. The Digital Tiger Face showcases the unique identity of the vehicle, which is accentuated by the Digital Pattern Lighting Grille and vertical headlamps, giving the EV9 a visionary and futuristic look. The GT-line model has a unique aesthetic that distinguishes it from the standard model.


Kia will start taking pre-orders for the EV9 in the second quarter of 2023 in Korea, with sales starting in selected global markets from the second half of the year. The SUV offers seven-seater and six-seater configurations, along with a variety of second-row seat options.
