With this world premiere, Volkswagen breathes new life into the SUV segment. As the first crossover convertible in the compact class, the new T-Roc Cabriolet combines the looks and strengths of classic SUVs with the unique driving experience of a convertible. The clear message of “Accept no roof” promises a sense of freedom – a literal breath of fresh air in the SUV segment and a highly emotive driving experience. The T-Roc delivers on this promise and brings a bit of colour to everyday life, thanks to its serious cool factor. The T-Roc evolves into the T-Roc family. The T-Roc Cabriolet brings more diversity to the booming SUV market, using the functionality, driving dynamics and technology of the T-Roc (introduced in November 2017) as a starting point. The name says it all: the “T”, derives from the Tiguan and the Touareg, identifying the T-Roc family as SUVs. “Roc” positions the T-Roc as a crossover, which confidently and spiritedly shakes up – or rocks – the compact SUV segment. It has managed to do this extremely successfully, with around 360,000 vehicles already sold since its launch. In March 2019, an additional high-performance variant of the family was presented: The TRoc R2), which brings 221 kW / 300 PS and 400 Nm torque onto the road, via 4MOTION four-wheel drive and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The T-Roc Cabriolet is set to extend the range of the popular crossover models to include a convertible in spring 2020. A convertible that makes driving a joy – every time. Accept no roof. As a stylish and sporty member of the T-Roc family, the TRoc Cabriolet pushes the boundaries of an automobile. It stands for both utility and freedom, as well as performance and comfort. The design, which is as charming as it is cool, sparks positive emotions. Its high-quality soft top opens in nine seconds, even when driving at speeds of up to 30 km/h. What’s more, the crossover utility vehicle (CUV) boasts all of the familiar strengths of Volkswagen SUVs: elevated seating along with numerous customisation options. With these features, the T-Roc Cabriolet establishes itself as an embodiment of vitality and driving pleasure, developed for adventurous people who are looking for freedom both in their everyday lives, as well as off the beaten path. The crossover convertible will be officially presented at the IAA international motor show in Frankfurt am Main from 12–22 September 2019. The launch will take place in spring 2020. Extroverted and emotive design. The T-Roc Cabriolet stands out with its distinctive body style. The modern and emotive design makes it unmistakably clear what the T-Roc is all about: driving pleasure, freedom and a zest for life. The strikingly wide front end, prominent lines and tight proportions make the model a bold mix of top-down effortlessness and beefy SUV looks. The team under Head of Design Klaus Bischoff gave the crossover Cabriolet a powerful yet refreshing appearance, which clearly underlines its unique position in th...
