McLaren has officially unveiled the W1, the successor to its iconic F1 and P1 models. This cutting-edge hypercar brings McLaren's racing pedigree to the forefront with an all-new 4.0L twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain, producing an astounding 1258 horsepower (1275 PS) and 1340 Nm of torque. This is the highest power output of any McLaren road car to date, and the combination of rear-wheel drive and advanced aerodynamics makes the W1 a game-changer both on the road and the track.

Performance is at the heart of the W1, with its acceleration figures making it the fastest road-legal McLaren yet. It can launch from 0-60 mph in just 2.7 seconds and reaches 124 mph in 5.8 seconds. The vehicle’s hybrid system includes a power-dense E-module, which not only contributes to the car’s extreme acceleration but also allows for brief electric-only driving. McLaren's attention to lightweight engineering results in a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio of 911 PS per tonne, enabling a dynamic and thrilling driving experience.

The W1 is available for purchase at around £2 million, with all 399 units already allocated. McLaren’s commitment to innovation is showcased through its Formula 1-inspired aerodynamics, which generate up to 1000 kg of downforce for unparalleled stability and control at high speeds. The car is expected to hit the streets by the end of 2024, solidifying its position as a top-tier supercar.
