All-New 2026 Lexus ES Debuts: Smarter, More Elegant, Now with BEV and Hybrid Options

Lexus has officially unveiled the eighth-generation ES at the 2024 Shanghai Motor Show, setting the tone for its next era of luxury sedans. The all-new ES brings significant improvements in performance, refinement, electrification, and digital innovation, targeting both private and business customers globally.

Refined Design Meets Clean Tech

The new ES embodies Lexus’s Clean x Tech design philosophy with a sleek, flowing silhouette, bold spindle body, star-signature lighting, and a minimalist, high-quality interior. It is longer, wider, and taller than the outgoing model, offering even more spaciousness and elegance.

Inside, Lexus debuts world-first Responsive Hidden Switches and Sensory Concierge, creating a futuristic, seamless cabin experience. An optional Mark Levinson sound system and a reimagined Tazuna cockpit design further raise the bar for luxury and technology integration.

Electrification and Powertrain Options
For the first time, the ES range includes both self-charging hybrids (HEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV):

HEV Lineup:

ES 300h
(199 hp) for Western markets
  • ES 350h (244 hp) for Eastern markets
  • Available with FWD or AWD

  • BEV Lineup
    :
ES 350e (224 hp) FWD with a range around 685 km
ES 500e (343 hp) AWD with DIRECT4 all-wheel drive and around 610 km range
Fast charging (150 kW) adds 10–80% in approximately 30–60 minutes depending on conditions

Built on a new iteration of the TNGA GA-K platform, the new ES delivers a lower center of gravity, sharper handling, and a more engaging driving experience without sacrificing Lexus’s signature comfort and quietness.

Next-Level Tech and Safety
The ES introduces the LexusConnect multimedia system with a new 14-inch touchscreen, over-the-air updates, and an integrated LexusLink+ app for managing EV functions.

On the safety front, Lexus Safety System+ now includes Driver Monitoring, Lane Change Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and a Driver Emergency Response System — making it one of the most advanced sedans in its class for driver support.

The 2026 Lexus ES redefines the luxury sedan formula with a bold mix of electrification, elegant design, and cutting-edge technology. It will begin European deliveries in spring 2026, with local market specifications and pricing to be announced later.
