The new BMW M8 Competition 2022 makes its debut

BMW has updated the M8 Competition for 2022 with subtle styling changes, more technology inside, optional M Carbon bucket seats,  and expanded color options, making it the automaker's flagship luxury performance car.

The all-new M8 Competition is available in three configurations: Coupe, Convertible, and Four-door Gran Coupe. The flagship model is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces 625 horsepower and 750Nm of torque. The engine is mated with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, allowing the drivers to make exciting, sporty maneuvers with ease. The 0-62mph figure for M8 Competition Coupe and Gran Coupe is 3.2 seconds, while the Convertible takes an extra tenth of a second to reach that mark.

There are eight new body colors available in the lineup, as well as new 20 inch M light alloy wheels in star-spoke design. The M lights Shadow Line will also be offered for the car's headlights for the first time, giving consumers even more customization options.

In terms of interior, the M8 Competition variants feature a new 12.3 inches infotainment display—an upgrade from 10.25 inches displays of previous models. The incredibly responsive, large touchscreen display allows the driver to perform numerous vehicle functions comfortably and efficiently.

M Carbon bucket seats are offered as an option on the revamped lineup. The seats have exposed carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) surfaces, integrated headrests, and multi-point seat belts, combining racing functionality with long-distance comfort.

Merino leather and Alcantara upholstery are now standard on M8 models. A new black and Sakhir Orange color option also features for the first time on the new variants, adding a sportier feel to the interior.

The BMW Live Cockpit Professional is now standard across the lineup. It includes the online navigation system BMW Maps and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The new M8 models also come with a parking assistant, wireless charging tray, and the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System.

The new M8 Competition models are currently on sale in the UK. The production for the United States will begin in March 2022.
