Mercedes-AMG EQE: A high-performance AMG version of the EQE electric sedan

With the launch of AMG EQE, a high-performance version of the E-class sedan, Mercedes-Benz has taken another step towards an all-electric future.

The vehicle has a dual-motor setup that produces 617 horsepower and 701 pound-feet of torque in standard trim and 677 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque with the Dynamic Plus Package. Thanks to this powerful motor, the AMG EQE Dynamic Plus package accelerates from 0–60mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 149 mph. The standard trim model reaches from 0–60mph in 3.4 seconds, and the top speed is about 134 mph.

The new Mercedes-AMG EQE model is equipped with a highly-efficient 328-volt lithium-ion battery, and the battery management system is explicitly tuned for AMG. Sport and Sport Plus driving modes emphasize performance, while Comfort mode focuses on operating range. The 90.6kilowatt-hour battery provides more than 250 miles of range, and its ability to charge at 170 kilowatts means 100 miles of range can be added in just 15 minutes.

Thanks to its one-bow lines and cab-forward design with a fastback, the new Mercedes-AMG EQE model stands apart from mainstream IC engine vehicles. The front bumper splits into two halves. One is painted in the body color, while the other half is painted in high-gloss black and features chrome trim. AMG side sill panels in high-gloss black, a bigger rear spoiler, and a rear bumper with an aerodynamically optimized diffuser round off the aggressive yet eye-catching design of the vehicle.

The interior is dominated by AMG design cues. The new model has AMG seats with personalized designs and unique seat covers, as well as a sporty ambiance. With its stunning twin-spoke design and flawlessly integrated buttons, the AMG Performance steering wheel blends visual stability with lightness. The revolutionary MBUX Hyperscreen is available as an option on the AMG EQE. The huge curved screen unit spans from A-pillar to A-pillar and merges three displays into one under the glass cover.

Pricing for the AMG EQE will be disclosed closer to the market launch next year.
