Volkswagen has unveiled the all-electric ID. Cross, a compact SUV with front-wheel drive and three power outputs: 85 kW (116 PS), 99 kW (135 PS) and 155 kW (211 PS). Buyers will be able to choose between 37 kWh and 52 kWh net batteries, with a WLTP range of up to 427 kilometres. DC fast charging is standard. The 37 kWh battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 23 minutes at up to 90 kW, while the 52 kWh version takes around 24 minutes at up to 105 kW. Maximum AC charging is 11 kW. The ID. Cross measures 4,153 mm long and offers 475 litres of luggage space, plus a 25-litre front trunk. German pricing starts at 27,995 euros for the 85 kW model with the smaller battery; the 155 kW version with the 52 kWh battery starts at 36,525 euros.
