The All-new Kia Carens Makes its Debut in India
Earlier this month,
Kia Corporation has unveiled "the Carens," a three-row MPV, during a world premiere event in India. The vehicle combines the functionality of a family mover with the sportiness of an SUV in one attractive package.
What's new?
Kia Carens has the longest wheelbase in its class, making it ideal for modern Indian families. The spacious and comfortable MPV will be offered in six-seat and seven-seat configurations at the time of launch. The Hi-Secure Safety Package, containing six airbags, is standard across all trims of Kia Carens, making it one of the safest automobiles in India. Three new colors have also been introduced on the Kia Carens: the mysterious imperial blue, a low saturation moss brown, and sparkling silver.
Splendid Exterior design:
The exterior design of Carens incorporates the company's most recent design concept, "Opposites United." The eye-catching DRLs in the headlamps are based on the company's new signature lighting concept, "The Star Map." The horizontal chrome garnish in the upper grille and the frame-type chrome garnish in the lower bumper combines to create Kia's iconic tiger face. A pair of 16-inch dual-tone crystal cut alloy wheels, and two-tone side door garnish accentuate the vehicle's side profile. The combination lamps at the rear give Carens a broad and robust appearance. The vehicle comes with a chrome rear bumper garnish with a diamond knurling pattern, premium gloss black skid plate, and integrated rear spoiler.
A classy interior:
The Kia Carens features a classy interior with soothing colors and a prominent gloss black panel on the dashboard to enhance the overall design. The vehicle also has a single wing-style air vent design and a premium silver garnish that runs all around the dashboard. The car offers ventilated front seats, 64-color ambient mood lighting, a Skylight sunroof, and a one-touch motorized tumble function for the second-row seats to improve the functionality.
The Kia Connect app replaces the previous UVO system, allowing the driver to run over-the-air upgrades for maps and other software. Kia Carens also comes with a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen navigation system and an eight-speaker Bose premium sound system.
A plethora of active safety features:
The Kia Carens is equipped with a plethora of active safety features. The model comes with India's first Hi-Secure Safety Package. Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Downhill Brake Control (DBC), Brake Assist System (BAS), six airbags, and Highline TPMS are standard across all Carens models.
Powertrain options and availability:
The Kia Carens will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options at the time of launch. Both these engines will come with multiple transmission options, including the seven-speed DCT and six-speed automatic.
The Kia Carens will be launched in India and some other selected regions from the first quarter of 2022.
