Mazda has announced the release of the all-new Mazda MX-30, an electric vehicle (EV) that will be available for purchase in the United States in the fall of 2023. The MX-30 is a compact crossover SUV that features a 35.5 kWh battery and a range of approximately 110 miles on a single charge. It also comes equipped with a front-wheel drive electric motor that generates 141 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.
One of the unique features of the MX-30 is its "Freestyle" doors, which are similar to those found on the RX-8 sports car. These doors are designed to make it easier for passengers to enter and exit the vehicle, and they also add a distinctive look to the MX-30.
The interior of the MX-30 is designed to be spacious and comfortable, with ample room for passengers and cargo. It features a minimalist design with a focus on natural materials, such as cork and denim. The MX-30 also comes equipped with the latest in-car technology, including a large touchscreen display and a head-up display.
The MX-30 also comes with a range of advanced safety features, including lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. It also has available features such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and a 360-degree camera system.
Mazda is also committed to sustainability and has used recycled materials in the production of the MX-30. The automaker claims that almost 25% of the plastics used in the vehicle are made from recycled materials.
The MX-30 is expected to have a starting price of around $30,000, and it will be available in a variety of colors, including Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, and Snowflake White Pearl.
"We are excited to bring the all-new Mazda MX-30 to the U.S. market," said Masahiro Moro, CEO of Mazda North American Operations. "It is a unique and innovative vehicle that truly stands out in the EV segment, and we look forward to seeing it on the roads."
The MX-30 is a significant step for Mazda in the EV market, as it marks the company's first fully electric vehicle offering in the U.S. With its unique design and advanced technology, the MX-30 is poised to make a big impact in the EV market when it becomes available in the fall of 2023.
