BMW has officially unveiled the all-new 2026 BMW iX3 50 xDrive, its first production model built on the revolutionary Neue Klasse platform. Serving as a technological and design milestone for the brand, the iX3 blends long-range electric performance with bold, future-forward styling, advanced software, and intelligent driver-assistance systems. The electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) features BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive system, enabling up to 400 miles of range and charging speeds of up to 400 kW, adding approximately 230 miles in just 10 minutes.

Powering the iX3 is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup combining an Electrically Excited Synchronous Motor at the rear and an Asynchronous Motor at the front, delivering 463 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque. This setup rockets the SAV from 0–60 mph in an estimated 4.7 seconds, while retaining a top speed of 130 mph. The model also debuts the Heart of Joy system—a new, high-speed dynamics controller—and an intelligent electronics architecture featuring four high-performance computers (BMW calls them “superbrains”) for real-time driving dynamics, infotainment, and driver-assist features.

Inside, the iX3 is equally groundbreaking. The new BMW Panoramic iDrive, paired with Operating System X, merges a 17.9-inch central display with the new Panoramic Vision HUD. The digital experience is elevated with smart ambient lighting, AI-powered personal assistant, biometric unlock via Digital Key Plus, and bi-directional charging (V2L, V2H, and V2G). Rear cargo space ranges from 30.4 to 65 cu ft, with an extra 2 cu ft under the hood. A towing capacity of 4,400 lbs adds even more utility.

The 2026 BMW iX3 will be built in Hungary and enter the US market by mid-2026, with a starting price around $60,000. A rear-wheel-drive variant will follow later, along with multiple new models based on the Neue Klasse architecture through 2027.
