BMW has unveiled the 2026 i3, a fully electric sedan that marks the brand's first electric 3 Series model. Built on the Neue Klasse platform, the i3 boasts a sleek 2.5-box design with a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and flared wheel arches, embodying BMW's modern aesthetic. The front features a unified kidney grille and four-eye light signature, while the interior introduces the BMW Panoramic iDrive and a free-cut central display, enhancing the driver-focused experience. Equipped with sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology and an 800-volt architecture, the i3 supports 400 kW DC charging, enabling rapid charging times and a projected range of up to 440 miles. The BMW Symbiotic Drive system offers Level 2+ automated driving capabilities, providing intuitive human-vehicle assistance. Production is set to commence at BMW's Munich plant in August 2026, with deliveries expected in Europe in the autumn of the same year. Pricing details have not been officially announced yet.
