BMW is expanding the new 3 Series range with its first fully electric version, the BMW i3, alongside petrol models with 48V mild-hybrid technology. Two electric variants will be available at launch, with a plug-in hybrid planned for the following year.
The BMW i3 50 xDrive uses dual electric motors to produce 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, has a 108.7 kWh battery and offers up to 912 km of WLTP range. The i3 40 xDrive produces 275 kW (374 hp), uses an 82.8 kWh battery and has a maximum WLTP range of 710 km.
At the top of the combustion-engine range, the M350 xDrive combines a 3.0-litre petrol inline-six with 48V mild-hybrid technology. Output is 326 kW (443 hp), with 0-100 km/h taking 4.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
